Aster Flammegarn Flammegarn (yarn died with small white dots) has roots in knitting history. This was a historical Scandinavian way of dyeing yarn for socks, where the skein was tied with reeds before dyeing. It typically was dyed blue or red.
The resulting fabric has the feel of a glint of light, and is interesting to the eye. However, it is solid enough for texture, cables or lace.
Today I bring the tradition up to date with modern dyes and yarns. This one is a soft blue that will complement blue jeans or show off a baby.
What's Odd? This skein is short of my standard full number of yards. A standard skein is 440 yd. This skein should work for baby booties or contrasting heels/toes with another fingering-weight yarn.
