Why are they called Chippy? Like potato chips, you can not stop knitting at one pair!

These are a quick knit in DK-weight yarn, and the colorwork keeps you fascinated. The patterns are easily memorized, and the knitting just speeds right on by. Three colors of yarn can be combined in infinite ways with seven leg charts and six foot striping patterns. Much fun, more color!

Sizes: Infant 0-1 / 2-3, (Child 8-9 / 10-11)
(Can also create a child's size appx 5-6, using worsted-weight yarn at 5.5st/in and knitting infant 2-3 stitch counts.)

Yarn: 1 / 1, (1 / 1) 50g skein/ball each in three different contrasting colors.

I have used Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino 55% merino, 33% microfiber & 12% cashmere, 50g/137 yd; Debbie Bliss Rialto 100% washable merino 50gm/115yd; Cascade Fixation* DK weight cotton/Lycra stretch yarn 50gm/100 yards/relaxed, Colors 2706 turquoise/1430 yellow/6185 hot pink; photo below is Rialto and above is a discontinued yarn.

Possible Yarn Substitutes: Louisa Harding Kashmir DK, Filatura di Crosa Zara, Magic Garden Buttons, Heirloom Easy-Care 8 ply.

Gauge: 6.25 stitches/inch* on Double-Pointed Needles (DPNs)

Needle Size: Start swatching on US 2/ 2.75mm needles, adjusting for your own personal gauge.

*The elastic/lycra in Fixation yarn means that different knitters can need anywhere from a size 2US to 6US needle to get this gauge... please swatch and wet the swatch to determine gauge before starting your project.
